For every km you run at a partner event ASICS will donate $1 towards children’s footwear. Over 2 years we’ve converted 80,000 of your km’s into $80,000 in kids’ shoes. This year we are aiming to take that total to $110,000 in donations to our charity partners.
We know the difference physical activity can make in someone’s life (hopefully you have felt it with your event training and racing) and would love to give children the opportunity to run and play in comfort.
ASICS was founded by Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka, who wanted to positively transform children in war-torn Japan by the power of sports. To ensure the purpose and the philosophy continues, ASICS supports children to move and be healthy in body and mind.
“Our Vision is to create a lifetime of opportunities for young people through an active lifestyle.”
“We want to engage our at-risk young people to embrace new activities, challenge them to get off the couch or street, and start down the active and healthy journey that sport offers.
We believe this will encourage our young people to become prosperous citizens, connected with and committed to their community”
At Variety – the Children’s Charity, our support is focused on improving the health, education and wellbeing of young New Zealanders.
Every child deserves the same opportunity for a happy, healthy childhood – yet every day, nearly 1 in 5 Kiwi kids go without the basics most of us take for granted. Thanks to our generous supporters and community partners, we are changing this one child at a time.
We provide support for essentials like bedding, a school uniform and shoes, and access to extra-curricular activities such as school camp and sport lessons.
You could win one of 4 x $1000 prize packs.
